P0234 – Turbocharger Overboost Condition Vehicles without variable geometry turbocharger MMC L200 IV

FUNCTION

  • The engine-ECU checks whether the boost pressure is not higher than the specified value.

    • TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

  • Engine is running
  • The boost pressure exceeds the abnormality determination value for 3 seconds.

    • PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Failed the waste gate actuator
  • Failed the engine-ECU

    • DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

    STEP 1. Check waste gate actuator itself.

    Q. Is the check result normal?

    STEP 2. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

  • Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.

    • Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?
