OPERATION

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Damaged wiring harnesses or connectors
  • Malfunction of the side impact sensor (RH)
  • Malfunction of the SRS-ECU

    • DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

    STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics.

    Q. Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?

    STEP 2.Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.

    Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

    STEP 3. Check the side impact sensor (RH). (M.U.T.-III diagnosis code)

    Q. Is diagnosis code B1438, B1439 or B1585 set?

    STEP 4. Check the harness wires for open circuit and short circuit between SRS-ECU connector B-109 (terminal No.38 and 39) and side impact sensor (RH) connector C-30 (terminal No.1 and 2).

    Q. Is the check result normal?

    STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.

    Q. Is diagnosis code B1428, B1429 or B1584 set?
