P1630 – Variant Coding Errors MMC Colt

FUNCTION

  • Based on the vehicle information stored in engine-ECU, perform the proper engine control. This diagnostic code occurs when the vehicle information is not stored properly at engine-ECU replacement although which is stored at the factory before the delivery.

    • TROUBLE JUDGMENT

  • Ignition switch is “ON” position.
  • The vehicle information is not stored in engine-ECU, or the wrong vehicle information is stored.

    • PROBABLE CAUSE

  • After engine-ECU replacement, the vehicle information is not stored, or the wrong one is stored.

    • DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

    STEP 1. After perform variant coding, re-check the trouble symptoms
