P1970 – Torque Monitoring MMC Colt



FUNCTION

  • Compare the difference between the actual torque signal and the requested torque signal.

  • TROUBLE JUDGMENT

  • Ignition switch is “ON” position.
  • The difference between the actual torque signal and the request torque signal exceeds the specified value.

  • PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Failed manifold absolute pressure sensor
  • Failed accelerator pedal position sensor
  • AIr drawn in from gaps in gasket, seals, etc.
  • Failed throttle valve control servo
  • Failed engine-ECU

  • DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

    STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

    Q. Diagnosis code set?

    STEP 2. M.U.T.-III data list

  • Item No. 7: Manifold absolute pressure sensor
  • Item No. 11: Accelerator pedal position sensor (main)
  • Item No. 12: Accelerator pedal position sensor (sub)
  • Q. Is the check results normal?

    STEP 3. Check for intake of air from gaps in gasket, seals, etc.

    Q. Is the check result normal?

    STEP 4. Check the throttle valve control servo itself.

    Q. Is the check result normal?

    STEP 5. Connector check: A-118 electronic-controlled throttle valve connector and A-08 engine-ECU connector.

    Q. Is the check result normal?

    STEP 6. Check harness between A-118 (terminal No. 1) electronic-controlled throttle valve connector and A-08 (terminal No. 7) engine-ECU connector.

  • Check output line for damage.
  • Q. Is the check result normal?

    STEP 7. Check harness between A-118 (terminal No. 2) electronic-controlled throttle valve connector and A-08 (terminal No. 22) engine-ECU connector.

  • Check output line for damage.
  • Q. Is the check result normal?

    STEP 8. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.

  • Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.
  • Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
