P0513 – Immobilizer Malfunction MMC Colt

FUNCTION

  • To secure the ignition key, engine-ECU sends or receives the signals from ETACS-ECU, engine-ECU through CAN communication
  • If the registered ignition keys are close each other when starting the engine, radio interference may cause this code to be displayed
  • This code may be displayed when registering the key encrypted code

    • TROUBLE JUDGMENT

  • Ignition switch is in “ON” position.
  • When the communication error between engine-ECU and the ETACS-ECU continues for 4 seconds or more.

    • PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Failed immobilizer system
  • Failed CAN
  • Failed engine-ECU

    • DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

    STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

    Q. Is diagnosis code related with CAN communication displayed?

    STEP 2. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code

  • Confirm whether the diagnosis codes are output from ETACS-ECU.

    • Q. Is the diagnosis code output?
